One of the engines of the civic transformation that sprang up around the millennium was the Jewish community, enthusiastically assimilating into the Hungarians. Their activities left a marked mark on the image of Budapest, which was being built into a cosmopolitan city. This flourishing was put to an end by the Jewish laws and then the Holocaust. The beautiful pictures of László Lugosi Lugo immortalize what remained of this culture, and what wants to live again.
